Fix 1

Copy the missing registry key from a working Windows 7 computer. You can also download this reg file and double-click it to import the missing key into your PC’s registry.

Thank you! I’ve been troubleshooting this issue for a week. I was checking all the services and permissions, I’ve done the SFC /scannow. I ran the MS FIX IT tool. Nothing worked. I was about to run the windows repair from the install disk, and even considered installing windows fresh. Then I came across this fix. to think all it took was a little reg file.
